With the gnac play underway and half the season over, Here are the Gnac Mid-season Awards!
1st Team All-Gnac
The first team all-gnac selection wasn't all too hard at the guard position. Chris Humphrey of BYU, Hawaii was a clear selection from the Nations most lethal 3 guard line-up. Humphrey, the nations Freshmen of the year in Season 2, is back to his Freshmen form and is averaging 15.0 ppg and 2.9 rpg to go with 1.9 apg. Humphrey is the clear leader of the current #9 team in the nation. Bo Zhao the floor captian of the high octane offense run by indiansrck27 at West New Mexico is the selection at pg. He is averaging 13.6 ppg and contributing 4.7 apg while pulling down 2.5 rpg. Zhao has showed his maturity this season leading West New Mexico to the #7 ranking along with the selection at pf, Michael Brackman. Brackman gets the nod over teammate Christopher Dial for his Rebounding edge, along with his superior defensive track record. Brackman is averaging 12.3 ppg to go with 8.0 rpg. On defense Brackman is dominating with 1.4 spg 1.3 bpg. At sf the obvious choice has North West Nazarene in 1st place in the East, Carlos Rogers. Rogers is scoring 14.5 ppg on 51.6% shooting and is pulling down 3.3 rpg. The Final spot was also easy to fill with Seattle Pacific Senior, Ned Bushovisky. Leading the gnac in scoring is no easy task and Bushovisky is doing just that. Scoring 15.9 ppg and pulling down 8.3 rpg while blocking 1.6 shots per game.
PG - Bo Zhao, West New Mexico
SG - Chris Humphrey, BYU, Hawaii

C - Ned Bushovisky, Seattle Pacific
Second Team All-Gnac
PG - Andrew Chairez, Chaminade
SG - Roberto Galindo, BYU, Hawaii
SF - James Thompson, Chaminade
PF - Chris Dial, West New Mexico
C - Michael Marinez, BYU, Hawaii
Gnac-Player of the Year
It was a close call between 2 canidents. Chris Humphrey of BYU, Hawaii, the leagues best Senior on one of the Leagues best teams, the guy who leads that team with heart and soul and the Player who has the surprising North West Nazarene team leading the East over National powerhouse, Humboldt State, Carlos Rogers. Humphrey has the scoring edge and plays on a more nationally recognized team. Whereas Rogers leads in rebounding and steals.
The seperation comes in when you think about the teams as a whole. BYU, Hawaii without Humphrey is still a top 25 team (and most likely top 10), whereas North West Nazarene is a potential PI team, not National Title contender, without Rogers. That being said the Mid-Season Gnac Player of the Year is Carlos Rogers of North West Nazarene!
Gnac Freshmen of the Year
Robert Carter of Central Washington. Carter is averaging a solid 6.8 ppg and 5.8 rpg for Central Washington this year. Carter is a solid piece to the puzzle and should help bring Central Washington up from the cellar in years to come.
Gnac Coach of the Year
gw20404 coach of Hawaii Pacific. gw has Hawaii Pacific just 1 win away from last seasons total Gnac wins and has already eclipsed last seasons total wins and has positioned his team to be in post season contention for the first time ever. Congrats gw on Hawaii Pacific's best season yet!
Congrats to all of those listed here and sorry for those of you that weren't mentioned.
