Seattle Pacific Season 6 Recruiting Class Breakdown

Recruiting is what I do best in HD and I am damn proud of it. Unfortunately, this season my recruiting class wasn't ranked among the CI Top 32 classes in D-II. You know what I say to that? They can go f**k themselves because this class is pretty damn good.

I signed 4 recruits, 3 of them from HS and 1 was transferred from a D-I school. Here is my breakdown on each of those 4 recruits.

PG Nolan Jackson
6'0" 176 lbs #193 PG
St Anthony HS Wailuku, HI
My take: I was amazed at how easy it was to get this guy and how nobody challenged me for him. He is definitely a sleeper and will become a very good guard after a redshirt year and a couple seasons on the bench due to his great WE. When he finally starts playing next season, I will probably play him at SG since I have plenty of PGs on my roster already. If everything goes as planned, I could see him in the starting lineup by his redshirt junior year, but hopefully he can make an impact off the bench sooner.

SF Mark Shoemake
6'8" 239 lbs NR
Greenway HS Phoenix, AZ
My take: The transfer from D-I school Tennessee-Chattanooga is a stud defender that will hope to make an instant impact as the backup SF this season. I highly doubt he will ever be able to develop any offensive ability due to his low WE and having only 3 years of eligibility left, but he will be a defensive force, which is invaluable in a team that will mostly consist of offensive playmakers.

SF Vincent Stivers
6'7" 210 lbs #140 SF
Andover HS Andover, KS
My take: Being an academic non-qualifier this year, he will have to wait until next year before he can practice, let alone play in a game. He is easily the most athletic player of the team and, combined with great a scoring ability and even better defense, he might turn out to be the best recruit in this class when it's all said done. If he improves his FT shooting, he could be an unstoppable force. Depending on where I play him, he should be the starter by his senior and will no doubt be in the starting lineup by the time he's a 5th-year senior.

C Samuel Girard
6'11" 228 lbs NR
St. Joseph HS Westchester, IL
My take: He will be the only one of the 3 freshmen in this class that will be playing this year, and ironically he is the only 1 of the 3 that wasn't ranked. He will be backing up Shanley at C this year and looks to take the starting job at C by sophomore year. He has great core abilities, but he isn't a very good defender or FT shooter and he isn't very athletic. That being said, he did run SPU's offense and defense in HS, so it will be easier for him to make that instant impact that I need him to make.

All in all, this is a very good starting class at SPU and hopefully the class that starts my dynasty at SPU.

GNAC PREVIEW SEASON 6

Another season begins, and the GNAC has the #1 recruiting class once again. Gonna kick out my Predictions for the GNAC.

EAST:

1. St. Martin's - Returns 10 players from their NT team last year, all the pressure is on them this year.
2. NW Nazarene - Have one of the best players in Rogers, and could easily be number 1 here.
3. Seattle Pacific - Solid Talent throughout the team, should return to the NT
4. Hummbolt St. - Alot of youth on this team, could really surprise some folks here or fall back this year.
5. Seattle - Another solid team, but not sure they will have enough in the extremely tough GNAC East.
6. C. Washington - Another team without any big talent, will be at least another year until the compete with the elite of the GNAC.

WEST:

1. W. New Mexico - Bringing back the most impressive amount of talent in the GNAC. I'm calling them the CT champion right now
2. BYU, Hawaii - Another solid group, that I expect to make another run in the NT.
3. Hawaii Pacific - Solid returning core, expecting to catch our first winning season here and maybe a PIT invite.
4. Montana St., Billings - This team may see its first postseason action also. I see them any where from 2 - 4 in the West, but these are my predictions and this is where i think they end.
5. Chaminade - not to worried about their preseason ranking (they are still simmed coached)
6. Hawaii @ Hilo - Bottom Dweller once again ruining the West RPIs.

I really dont see anyone competing with W. New Mexico in the conference this year. brackman is going to be a beast, and i hate the fact I face him twice. Good luck to you all!!

Hawaii Pacific Recruiting Goals

HPU lost 4 srs this past season, but retain 5th year senior Gerald Keith who will back up Schultz in his last year. Brewer and Sowinski remain starters at there positions. Janconski and Brown look to start at SG and C this year, and the following year.

Coach gw20404 is looking for a PG to play a little this year and learn the ropes, but to come in and start as a sophomore. 2nd we will look for another big man who may or may not be redshirted. 3rd we need to aquire another SF to take the place of Keith next year. Lastly we will be looking for another big man to add depth to losing brewer next year.

We have some recruits on radar, but you never know what happens here. There isnt much in the local talent pool, but we may try and take one or two from there. The rest will come from all over the place, as HPU has a good mix of International players as it stands.
